Connor Jamison

Conor Jamison began his choral music career in 1997 as a freshman placed in the beginning
level, non-audition choir at Nevada Union High School due to overflow in the elective classes he
had requested. Before long, choir became the most important part of his life. In his time as a
student at NU, he was a member of Chamber Choir, served as a student conductor, received the
Concert Choir Award for dedication, and participated in two Europe tours to England &
Scotland, and to Italy where combined choirs sang for Pope John Paul II. After graduation, he
pursued a vocal performance degree which took him all over the state. In that time, he sang with
several elite groups, and studied voice with instructors such as Dr. Peter Atherton while singing

with the Chapman University Singers under Dr. William Hall, and Dr. David Rohrbaugh while
singing with The San Jose State Choraliers under Dr. Charlene Archibeque. After which, he
returned to Nevada County to co-found and serve as the musical director for Nevada Union
alumni group Penumbra. After these exploits, he landed at Humboldt State University where he
completed his BA in music in 2009. During that time, he sang with the Humboldt University
Singers under Dr. Harley Muilenberg, co-directed a small acapella ensemble, and studied voice
with Dr. Elizabeth Harrington. After his undergraduate studies were complete, he matriculated to
San Diego State University where he completed an MA in Musicology in 2013, studying with
Dr. Eric Smigel. During the in-between moments, he appeared several times as a soloist with the
Sierra Master Chorale under Ken Hardin. Mr. Jamison completed his California Teaching
Credential in 2024, having completed his student teaching with his original mentor, and good
friend Rod Baggett. Mr. Jamison is more than honored to become the fourth conductor of the
Nevada Union High School Choir, following in the legacy of Marion Libby, Don Baggett, and Rod Baggett before him. He considers this to be a dream come true!
